Dear Friends:

Twelve years ago we started this effort to help raise money and awareness for some great kids living in our community. Today, with your help and support, we are now playing a valuable role in the lives of some great kids here in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

College basketball may have March Madness, but here we have Fall Fever, when members of Congress, congressional staff and the lobbying community hit the hardwood for the annual Hoops for Hope All-Star Classic. Regardless of your party or politics, this is one event where we can all come together and enjoy an evening devoted to kids. No partisan politics, just fun and maybe a few elbows.

For all of us who work and enjoy our Nation's Capitol there is a sense of giving back to a city that offers us so much opportunity and hope. Tonight is no different. I could not be prouder of the efforts we've made over the years. At times it hasn't been easy, but it has been fun. We have a great group of dedicated volunteers who make what we do possible. Tonight we recognize Danny Leonard, Brad Knox and Jess Peterson for their continued commitment to our efforts. Your dedication has really made a difference!

Our mission is much more than playing basketball. It's about teaching kids that the skills they use on the basketball court can be used in the classroom and in their community. It's about mentoring some really great kids, who one day will lead this country. It's about teaching kids anything is possible. Tonight's game isn't about charity, it's about community. Tonight we also show the country that we can put politics aside for the greater good. We gather from all parties tonight in our efforts and work towards one common goal: A brighter future.

The Hoops For Youth Foundation continues to enjoy impressive growth due in no small part to the generous support of our sponsors. Thanks to your continued support we have been able to make a real difference in the lives of some outstanding kids. Thank you for your continued support of this event and being a part of the Hoops For Youth Foundation family.

Sincerely,

Paul A. Miller
Chairman
